Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (Adolescent Program)
Location: AWA Davie (On-Site)
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–8:00 PM

About the Role

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a key role in supporting the daily therapeutic and operational functions of the Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) . This position is essential in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for adolescents receiving mental health treatment. The BHT works closely with clinical staff to ensure each client's daily experience aligns with their treatment goals, while fostering emotional safety, accountability, and positive engagement.

We are currently hiring for multiple part-time positions to support our afternoon programming needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent structure and supervision to adolescents ages 13–17 participating in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs
• Monitor and promote client safety at all times, including during transitions, breaks, and group sessions
• Model and reinforce appropriate behaviors, communication, and coping strategies
• Support group sessions and therapeutic activities under the direction of licensed clinicians
• Conduct and document daily wellness and safety checks
• Respond to crisis situations calmly and in accordance with AWA's safety and behavioral intervention protocols
• Assist with client transportation coordination, attendance tracking, and daily progress documentation
• Communicate relevant updates, observations, and concerns to clinical and leadership teams in real time
• Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming facility environment
• Participate actively in team meetings, trainings, and program development initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, residential, educational, or community-based settings is required
• Knowledge of basic behavioral health principles , crisis intervention, and therapeutic boundaries
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to build rapport and de-escalate tense situations
• Reliable, empathetic, and patient under pressure; able to maintain professionalism in emotionally charged situations
• Organized and detail-oriented , with the ability to multitask and maintain accurate documentation
• Spanish proficiency is a strong plus, but not required
• Must be comfortable working in-person as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team
